Slow but steady

I have been working on the basement during the weekends. The basement is unfinished and has four rooms. There is a family room, a bedroom, a mechanical room and a full bath. I have chosen (or did the wife pick?) to start with the family room. The room is 20X12. I made a closet on one end so the room will finish at 16X12 with a 4x12 closet. So far, the exterior wall has been sealed (worst part so far), the stud walls framed in, the ceiling lowered, the outlets wired and the overhead can lights installed. Estimated completion date 12/31/2010. :)

NC weather

Yep. We've gotten all of the phone calls about the nasty storms that have ravaged Ohio. Our response......sorry to hear that, but the weather is GREAT here! Since we know it may be hard to believe and maybe hard to swallow as well, we thought we would post a picture of Jack enjoying the day here on February 22nd.

Zippity do dah!

In our pursuit of family fun, we decided to purchase a zip line for the kids. With the incredibly nice North Carolina weather that we have been experiencing, we were able to install the zip line on Saturday. Needless to say, it was a huge hit - with the adults as well as the kids! The only injury incurred was during set-up when the handle swung out and hit Emma in the eye. The result? A black eye, of course!

We're bloggin!

Well, we've finally bit the bullet and decided to create a blog. Mass emails and phone calls are fine, but a picture says a thousand words (so the saying goes). By using a blog, we will be able to fill everyone in on our crazy life and add pictures to really help you visualize what is going on! We have John and Jacki to thank for this awesome communication tool - Thanks guys! So, stay tuned for lots of our adventures......
